On Monday, June 7th the International Institute of Cosmetology (IIC) hosted a mobile COVID-19 vaccine walk-in clinic provided by Griffin Hospital. The clinic gave people the option between the Moderna , Pfizer or Johnson and Johnson vaccines.
The mobile vaccine clinic concept started in March 2021 in Connecticut to accommodate a wide range of locations throughout Connecticut. Griffin Health has as many as 35 mobile units set up daily. In some cases, two mobile units are sent to a single location if the anticipated number of vaccines that are needed is high. International Institute of Cosmetology was able to make vaccines readily available for educators, students, graduates, administration and the local public. Some walk-ins were able to get their second vaccine at the clinic if they attended another Griffin Health mobile clinic for their first dose.
