Allison chose to pursue cosmetology at IIC because of the deep love for doing hair and making others feel confident. Growing up in Wethersfield and hearing high praise about International Institute of Cosmetology from friends in the industry, Allison knew it was the perfect place to take this exciting next step—especially after having a daughter and wanting to build a fulfilling career.
Allison’s “ah-ha” moments came early, but one that stands out is the experience with her very first client. The nerves were high, but by the end of the service, felt a wave of pride as the client expressed joy and gratitude, even giving Allison a hug. Moments like these, where Allison gets to help others feel beautiful and confident, reminding why this career path was chosen and motivate Allison every day.
Looking forward, Allison envisions working in a salon environment that feels like family—where everyone lifts each other up and celebrates one another’s successes.
To those considering cosmetology school, Allison offers this advice: “It’s never too late! The small sacrifices you make will be so worth it in the end.” Allison’s positivity, dedication, and passion make a great choice for any salon Allison chooses to work at when done with school.

Brooke chose to attend IIC because of the welcoming atmosphere and the supportive community of students and instructors. With a lifelong passion for hair, Brooke was drawn to cosmetology at International Institute of Cosmetology as a way to turn that passion into a career.
One of the moments that truly solidified Brooke’s love for the field was seeing the joy on her clients’ faces after a successful appointment. Knowing she made a difference in how someone feels about themselves is a rewarding experience and fuels her dedication to the craft.
Looking ahead, Brooke envisions working in a salon, building a loyal clientele, and continually refining skills as a stylist. Brooke understands that the journey comes with both highs and lows, and sees these moments as valuable lessons that shape you into a stronger, more knowledgeable stylist.
