Hosted by Pivot Point in Rosemont, IL, the LABX LIVE event was attended by Lead Educators Ms. Kesha and Ms. Pam. They were able to network, connect and learn alongside educators from across the country. IIC utilizes Pivot Point’s Lab as their digital learning platform called LAB. This digital learning platform houses IIC’s curated educational content broken down by paths that guides the student learner through their education.

Welcome Reception
Encouraged everyone to share with other industry professionals and key Pivot Point team members. This was followed by a full day of learning. The main event opened with inspiring words from Paul Suttles, Pivot Point’s Sr. Director of Education Experience, and Sabine Held Perez, Vice President of Education.
Morning Session: Fundamentals: Cosmetology 2nd Edition

Afternoon Session: Hands-On Learning Tracks

- LAB Administration
- Hair Additions
- Nails
- Cutting Curly Hair
Ms. Kesha has always embraced technology in the classroom and encourages students to use google to find out more information. She is eager to bring the newest version of LAB in the classroom. Ms. Pam, who started her cosmetology career at International Institute of Cosmetology as a Phase 1 instructor, has a keen interest in structure and says “the newest version of LAB will be tailored for comprehensive learning”.
Fundamentals: Cosmetology 2nd edition will be adopted at IIC starting January 2025. “We continually strive to bring the most up to date and diverse content to our curriculum” said Marie Bobair, IIC Director of Education, about the new Fundamentals: Cosmetology 2nd edition.
